Carol Vorderman Twitter: Countdown legend gushes over unlikely 'girl crush' – 'She's ace'

Carol Vorderman revealed she fancies The Greatest Dancer captain Oti Mabuse after seeing her appearance on ITV’s Lorraine. The former Countdown star said the Strictly Come Dancing professional is her “girl crush” in a gushing Twitter post. “I have a girl crush,” the 58-year-old announced. “Met her on @BBCTheOneShow a few months ago… she’s ace.” She went on to add: “[I] saw her on @lorraine this morning talking about The Greatest Dancer @OtiMabuse.

“Wishing her every single well deserved success in everything she does.”

Many of her fans agreed with her and one swooned: “Oti is inspiration, so driven and positive! #livinglife.”

Seconding their response, another said: “I know. I sent her a tweet the other day saying how much I like her exuberance and enthusiasm on the new dance programme. Go, girl!”

Two others gushed: “She just oozes positivity” and “She’s amazing. I love her energy!”

Someone else shared: “I love her infectious personality and the way she moves on and off a dance floor. Such a talent, such a wonderful person.”

Oti, 28, was interviewed by Scottish presenter Lorraine Kelly, 59, on Wednesday and discussed her relationship with BBC co-star Cheryl, 35.

Admitting she was “nervous” when she first met the former Girls Aloud star, the performer insisted she and the singer “mixed and gelled like Bluetooth”.

“When we met, I was a little bit nervous because I didn’t know her, so I said to myself, ’If I’ll respect her, she’ll respect me!’ she began.

“From the first sentence we just mixed and gelled like Bluetooth! Last night, we were texting until midnight.”

The ballroom dancer revealed the pair admire each other’s physiques, adding: “She’s always looking at my bum and I’m always looking at her abs!

“It’s great to get to know her funny side. We talk about [our interest in] TV shows. She loves shoes and her family.”

When it came to talking about her finalists in The Greater Dancer, the professional dancer sang the praises of both KLA and The Globe Girls.

Of Latin Formation group KLA, she shared: “I’ve worked with them and the nice thing about it is that I can push them!

“Coming from Strictly I’m really strict, and with them I can go to town.”

As for the commercial group The Globe Girls, she dished: “When we started they weren’t really working together as a team, but I’ve been drilling them.”

The Greatest Dancer continues on BBC One at 7.30pm.
