Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall wraps up against cold in chic tartan outfit on royal visit

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, wife of Prince Charles, made a stylish public appearance today. She was at the Frome Men’s Shed in Somerset which offers a workspace where people from Frome and the surrounding area can work on practical projects with others. It is equipped with tools and materials donated by the public or local businesses. The Duchess of Cornwall was photographed chatting to members of the shed.

She opted for a matching purple and dark green tartan skirt and buttoned blouse.

The shirt was buttoned nearly all the way to the top while the skirt fell below her knees.

Camilla was previously seen wearing this purple tartan in October when she and Queen Elizabeth, 91, attended a horse whispering demonstration by Brooke Global Ambassador Monty Roberts at the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace.

As fitting for the winter weather she also donned a black cape and black leather gloves for the Somerset visit.

The cropped cape was undone, displaying the row of small purple buttons on the tartan blouse underneath.

The outfit was completed by long heeled black boots, the top of which were hidden by the tartan skirt.

Camilla accessorised with one of her favourite gold chain bracelets with multi-coloured, semi-precious stones. The Duchess has two of the bracelets.

Photographs see the Duchess animatedly talking to a group of men at the shed, against a background of tools.

She was also presented with a model coracle by Patrick Abrahams during the visit.

Camilla also opted for a matching skirt and jacket ensemble during her last public appearance.

The Duchess visited the Brenner Centre in Stepney last Wednesday to commemorate its 80th anniversary.

Prince Charles’ wife teamed her smart green suit with a pair of black tights and matching pumps to go and see the Jewish community centre which offers help to those who are isolated or suffering from bereavement.

The Duchess of Cornwall went for a spin on to the dance floor during her visit to the East End centre for the elderly.

Camilla was twirled around by a sprightly 86-year-old who could not believe his luck that the Duchess wanted to dance.

As a singer performed the traditional Jewish song Hava Nagila, Camilla joined a ring of dancing guests who all held hands before she linked arms with 86-year-old Abraham David and they spun around.

The shade of green Camilla opted for with her outfit was compared to Kate Middleton’s dress last week.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 37, chose a forest green midi dress which featured pretty pleats on the skirt from luxury fashion boutique Beulah when she visited Family Action Charity in London.

Just like Camilla, Kate also opted for tartan when she visited Dundee to officially open the new V&A yesterday. She wore an Alexander McQueen Black Watch tartan coat she was first seen wearing in 2012.

In her ears, she wore a pair of Princess Diana’s sapphire earrings. Prince William gave Kate these earrings in 2011 when they married.
