Nancy is heard warning her husband: “I’m troubled by opening with all of this, Charles.”

The couple peer out of their front door with sickness striking down people, they wonder if they could be next.

Victoria is on the warpath as she takes tea with someone and says: “If one of my children were ill, I would not hesitate to go into the sick room!”

Meanwhile, Duchess Sophie Monmouth (Kate Fleetwood) seems as troubled as ever as a piece of jewellery is placed around her neck by her devious husband the Duke (Nicholas Audsley).

WHO ARE THE CHARTISTS?

“William’s been at school for months now, I could visit him, she says cautiously.

However, the Duke warns: “Everything you’re fond of belongs to me.” She appears scared at what appears to be a thinly-veiled threat.

There is further trouble in paradise for the royal couple as Prince Albert gets into a passionate argument with Victoria and says: “This is the 19th Century!”

“You are so callous at the moment!” Victoria hits back to him as their quarrel is overheard by others.

There are whisperings as Victoria and Albert are seen in public with some questioning the state of their marriage.

DID VICTORIA AND ALBERT REALLY RETREAT TO OSBORNE HOUSE?

“I will never desert you,” Victoria is told by her half-sister Feodora (Kate Fleetwood) as the trailer comes to an end.

The trailer brings up questions about Victoria and Albert’s marriage as they seem to increasingly at odds with one another. But fans will have to tune in this weekend to see how the episode pans out.
