Premier League table: Latest standings after shock Man City loss, Liverpool well clear

City suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat against Newcastle at St James’ Park and in the process have left Liverpool with a four point gap at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Pep Guardiola’s side had won their previous eight games in all competitions, scoring 33 goals in the process, but Liverpool now have the chance to go seven points clear when they face Leicester City on Wednesday.

Manchester United’s winning streak was halted as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw his men draw 2-2 with Burnley at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils had been two goals down before Paul Pogba and Victor Lindelof left it late in the game to see United take a point.

Arsenal secured a 2-1 win in an emotional night in London, after goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

It was Cardiff’s first game since the aircraft carrying Cardiff’s new signing Emiliano Sala went missing on 21 January.

The Gunners are now on the same points as Chelsea on 47, but the Blues have a game in hand.

As for United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, their draw now sees them two points off fourth place.
