Horror favourite Resident Evil is reportedly being made into a Netflix Original TV series. Resident Evil fans are already keen to find out everything associated with the potential new series, from the release date and cast to the trailer and plot. Here’s all we know so far about the Resident Evil TV series and when it will be released.

When is the Resident Evil TV series released on Netflix?

The new Resident Evil TV series is yet to be given a release date by show bosses.

Netflix has reportedly agreed to release the TV adaptation of the horror franchise online as an original series, according to Deadline.

Resident Evil will, therefore, likely have every episode of its debut season released at once for fans to stream in the UK, USA, and worldwide.

German film studio Constantin Film, the brains behind the Resident Evil movies, is believed to be the company working on the project, working alongside Netflix.

We do know Resident Evil doesn’t appear on Netflix’s full 2019 release schedule, but that could be subject to change.

Who will star in the Resident Evil TV series on Netflix?

The cast of Netflix’s Resident Evil TV series is yet to be announced.

Unfortunately for horror genre fans, there are no early indicators as to who will appear either.

Milla Jovovich has starred as lead character Alice in all six Resident Evil movies to date, but whether she’ll be reprising the role on the small screen is yet to be confirmed.

Jovovich would be a welcome addition to the TV series’ cast amongst die-hard Resident Evil fans, as would fellow movie regulars Ali Larter (as Claire) and Spencer Locke (as K-Mart).

What will happen in the Resident Evil TV series on Netflix?

The plot for the Netflix series is being kept under wraps as the project is still in the very early stages of production.

According to Deadline, however, the series plans to “expand the Resident Evil universe and deepen the existing mythology.

The publication also states: “The series will keep the basic premise, which also served as a setup for the movie franchise.

“The drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus.”

Resident Evil fans can also expect plenty of nods to the movie adaptations with plenty of references and ‘Easter eggs’ dotted throughout.

A trailer for Resident Evil is yet to be released by Netflix.

With the project still in its very early stages, it could be a while before fans catch a first glimpse at what’s in store.

Once filming has commenced and wrapped up, fans will likely be treated to a promo for the new series.
