Kevin Durant makes Anthony Davis admission after trade request and TROLLS Donald Trump

Davis is certain to leave the New Orleans Pelicans after confirming that he will not sign a contract extension worth $240million this summer.

He has handed in a trade request, putting a number of teams on red alert.

The breaking news has also dominated the sporting headlines throughout the day in the USA.

But Durant has put the news in perspective, stating it is far less serious than “the president shutting down the government”.

“It’s not worrying you but it’s definitely a topic of conversation,” Durant said.

“All NBA news is, it’s not that serious.

“AD wanting to play basketball somewhere else is not like the president shutting down the government.

“It’s just basketball so of course we talk about it.

“We all as players, we want guys to do exactly what they want to do in this league.

“You have a short amount of time so why not do what you want to do.”

The 35-day shutdown of the US government, the longest in US history, finally came to an end on January 25.

Trump announced that the government would re-open for three weeks – until February 15 – having argued with Democrats over his proposed border wall.

But the US president has suggested there could be another shutdown in the near future as he refuses to budge on the $5.7billon he wants for the border wall.

The deal in which he agreed to end the government shutdown did not include funding for a border wall.

During the 35-day shutdown, 800,000 government workers went without pay, with some still expected to turn up to work.
