Gemma Collins Dancing on Ice: What do Torvill and Dean REALLY think of Gemma?

Dancing on Ice 2019 is shaping up to be one of the most dramatic series of the ITV show with TOWIE star Gemma Collins taking centre-stage. Gemma was left in tears after she suffered a fall during her Dancing on Ice performance this weekend. Last week Jason Gardiner and Gemma got into an awkward spat on the live show after he delivered some harsh words about her routine in Musicals Week. Now, judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have spoken out about Gemma.

What do Torvill and Dean REALLY think of Gemma?

Dancing on Ice judges Torvill and Dean have revealed their thoughts about Gemma during an appearance on This Morning on Sunday (January 28).

Speaking ahead of yesterday’s live show, the Olympic skating legends told This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes that they were judging the contestants on their skating performances rather than anything else.

Jayne explained: “I think Gemma does have a lot of followers on social media, so she will have the support there too.”

She continued: “But we have to look at it as judges. [Which] is how much skating she’s doing.”

WHO LEFT DANCING ON ICE TONIGHT?

The former athlete added: “Chris and I personally felt she hadn’t put in the hours in from her first to the second week.”

While Chris said: “Yeah we’re hoping for serious numbers this week. So we hope to see an improvement.”

He went on to say: “We just want her to put her money where her mouth is.

“She needs to put her best foot forward tonight now doesn’t she.”

WHAT IS GEMMA COLLINS’ REACTION TO HER DANCING ON ICE FALL?

Chris concluded: “Don’t know whether it’s too little too late, but she’s definitely working harder this week. We will see.”

However, Gemma appeared to impress the two judges after she managed to get her highest score of the competition yet when she was awarded 16.5.

Despite her unfortunate fall, Gemma showed improvement from her previous week as she and professional skating partner Matt Evers took to the ice.

After the performance, she was praised by the judges with Jayne saying: “Yes, you have definitely worked hard and improved. I was so impressed with your solo skating this week and it’s so disappointing for that.”

Chris said: “Gemma, you have proved that you can improve because practice, practice, practice makes better and you look like a new celebrity up there tonight. Unfortunate for the trip but let’s move forward from here.”

COULD GEMMA COLLINS BE INJURED AFTER DANCING ON ICE FALL?

Even tough judge Jason was full of praise and noted her improvement between the two weeks.

Speaking ahead of this week, Gemma vowed that she would impress the judges as she trained hard.

She recorded a series of videos which she shared with her 1.2 million Instagram followers saying: “I’ve grafted this week. This week is going to be next level.

“I never thought I’d be spending my Friday nights ice skating. I cannot tell you how tired I am.”

Dancing on Ice 2019 continues on ITV this Sunday at 6pm
