Dan Walker, 41, introduced guest Tony Foulds, 82, on BBC Breakfast last week, who he had previously met in Sheffield whilst walking the dog.
The host explained Tony had been visiting a memorial for 10 American soldiers for many years after he witnessed their plane crash in a park in Sheffield in 1944 during the Second World War.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the incident on February 22, Dan said he promised to fulfil Tony’s wish to have a fly past over the memorial.
And on an episode of the BBC One show last week, Dan was able to make Tony’s dream come true.
