09.45 UPDATE: Will Paul Pogba leave Man Utd?

Manchester United star Paul Pogba will NOT be returning to Juventus, says Old Lady gaffer Massimiliano Allegri.

“Oh my… you have such fantasies,” Allegri said, when asked about a potential blockbuster deal for the midfielder.

“I think that a return of Pogba to Juventus is very, very unlikely. I will not deceive myself, I think it will be really hard to see Pogba come back.”

Pogba was heavily tipped to make a Juventus comeback as his relationship with former United boss Jose Mourinho deteriorated.

09.30 UPDATE: Vincent Kompany deal in doubt

Vincent Kompany’s continuing fitness problems are complicating his chances of landing a contract extension at Manchester City.

The City skipper has not featured in City’s last six games after suffering muscle problems in the vital 2-1 win over Liverpool earlier this month.

And, while Pep Guardiola has indicated he wants the Belgian international to sign a new one-year deal when his current contract expires in the summer, the club are concerned the 32-year-old is too injury prone.

Kompany has made just 14 appearances for City this season but his surprise inclusion to start against Liverpool was an indication of how much Guardiola continues to value him, both as a defender and leader.

09.12 UPDATE: Arsenal transfer warning

Former Arsenal academy director Andries Jonker has warned young prospects to stay away from the Emirates if they want to make the grade.

“I would advise them to play 100 games on the continent first,” said the Dutchman.

Jonker left Arsenal in 2017 after two-and-a-half years in north London.

However, his spell as Wolfsburg boss was ill-fated and he lasted just nine months in the job.

AC Milan are ready to make a move to take Watford midfielder Gerard Deulofeu back to the San Siro before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

The Spain international has emerged as a shock target for Milan, who signed him on loan from Everton two years ago.

The Hornets signed Deulofeu on loan last January before making his move from Barcelona permanent in the summer for around £10m.

Deulofeu was an unused substitute as Javi Gracia rotated his team for Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Newcastle.

Alban Lafont turned his back on Arsenal last summer – but doesn’t rule out a future move to the Emirates.

“Since I was little I have really liked Arsenal,” said Lafont, 19, who was targeted by the Gunners after impressive performances for Toulouse.

“I would like to play later in a five-star club. But I’m keeping my feet on the ground.”

Lafont joined Fiorentina in a £5m move last July having rebuffed the Gunners’ advances.

08.00 UPDATE: Man Utd manager latest

Manchester United will not allow Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s record-breaking impact as manager to alter their plan to wait until the summer before naming a new boss.

Solskjaer, 45, has won the first eight games of his reign after taking temporary charge at Old Trafford following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

And there is a growing belief amongst players, fans and staff at the club that the Norwegian has done enough to win the job on a permanent basis.

But it is understood that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and United’s American owners agree the decision will be taken over months rather than weeks.

Liverpool have snapped up Billy Koumetio from French side US Orleans, according to reports.

Premier League leaders Liverpool have refrained from splashing out in order not to disrupt their squad.

However, they are always on the hunt for emerging talent and Koumetio fits that profile of player.

ESPN reckon Liverpool have tied up a deal for the 16-year-old, who had a trial spell with them in 2018.

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Barcelona misfit Malcom, with Tottenham also keen on the winger.

Arsenal have had a low-key January transfer window with barely any funds at Unai Emery and co.’s disposal.

But they could get around that by making loan signings which will be made permanent in the summer.

The Sun now claim Arsenal are interested in Malcom, who has been heavily linked with Tottenham by Spanish reports.

07.00 UPDATE: Man Utd vs Chelsea EXCLUSIVE

Manchester United and Chelsea are set to scrap it out for Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen at the end of the season.

The Premier League duo’s chances of getting the Dane on board are boosted by he is proving too pricey for Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also keen on Eriksen, who has been unable to agree an extension to his £75,000-a-week contract.

Eriksen, now well Spurs’ top earners in Dele Alli and Harry Kane, is content with life in in London, which might aid Chelsea’s quest to secure his services.
