Star Wars 9 leak: Pictures reveal 'First Order Resistance battle' When is the trailer out?

There is a just a week to go until the Super Bowl on February 3 and fans are increasingly worried they will not see any Star Wars footage. Filming on the final episode of the Skywalker saga is wrapping up soon, with reshoots to come later. Much of that filming has taken place at Pinewood, Cardington Sheds and the nearby Black Park. While secrecy is still at a premium, some images continue to leak from the various sites. The latest ones reveal: “The aftermath of ground warfare between the First Order and the resistance.”

Many commentators now believe Disney will use the Super Bowl advertising slots to promote Avengers Endgame, Captain Marvel and one or more of the live-action reboots out this year, including The Lion King and Aladdin.

This leaves fans without any official images or footage from Episode IX.

The new pictures were taken at Black Park and seem to reveal a new snow planet, that is too forested to be Hoth. It looks more like the terrain of the destroyed Starkiller Base, which could only return in flashbacks.

However, there are also some white stone buildings which look ancient and do not fit anything on the First Order base. They point to a planet with an old existing civilisation. Scroll through the first set of Instagram images to see these buildings.

The pictures were posted on Instagram by fan Luke Griffin.

The blackened trees certainly look like they have been burned in some kind of battle, but this is only supposition at this stage.

JJ Abrams is expected to widen the Star Wars universe further than ever before, with reports he will introduce more new locations and characters than any other film in the franchise’s history.

Consistent reports have revealed Leia will send out Finn, Poe and Chewbacca across the galaxy and Outer Rim and even perhaps into Unknown Space to seek support for the Resistance.

Early set photos showed Finn, Poe and Chewwy on a grassy planet with Naomi Ackie’s mysterious new character.

Perhaps these latest pictures are also another new planet, either the base of a hidden resistance cell or the location of a First Order base.

With many fearing there will be no official footage or images until Star Wars Celebrations in April, this may be all fans have to go on for a few more months yet.
