Novak Djokovic: Annabel Croft makes SHOCK Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer revelation

Djokovic won a record-breaking seventh Australian Open title this morning by comfortably beating Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-2, 6-3.

The world No 1 was in mesmerising form to scoop the 15th Grand Slam title of his career.

However, Croft believes a young Stefanos Tsitsipas will be able to stop Djokovic in his tracks.

Tsitsipas knocked Federer out of the fourth round in Melbourne but fell at the semi-final stage against Nadal.

And Croft has tipped the 20-year-old to bounce back stronger because he has a similar game style to Federer.

“I think Tsitsipas can maybe stop Novak,” Croft told Eurosport.

“Maybe not immediately but he’s got a game that’s so exciting to develop on.

“Maybe when you consider in years gone by how Federer has challenged Djokovic, they have a similar game, maybe not over five sets just yet.”

Nadal did not even get close to beating Djokovic in their final showdown.

The Spaniard earned just one breakpoint which Djokovic defended towards the end of the third set.

“Novak was unstoppable tonight, from the word go it was foot down, full throttle,” Croft added.

“I think Nadal was a little bit nervous, and tense at the start and he was never allow to play his own game, he was blown off the court by Novak.

“Novak had so many service games held to love, but just an extraordinary level and I think that’s what shocked a lot of the people watching here today.

“This was the world number one versus the world number two, and it appeared that the level difference between the two of them was just such a big gulf.

“Because Rafa didn’t get off to a fast start, maybe there were some extra nerves that kind of set the precedent and the pressure started to build from there, an early break, immediately down on the scoreline and he never really got back in to the game.”
