Ivan Perisic to Arsenal Live: Transfer request in, Inter star exiled, Monday meeting on

19:20 UPDATE: Transfer urged to happen

Italian journalist Carlo Genta has urged Inter Milan to sell Ivan Perisic if he does not want to stay at the club.

“It is essential not to hold anyone (who does not want to be there),” he said on Sky Italia.

“Inter did it, but he is not having a great season.

“Perisic is a great player, one of the strongest at Inter. But if he wants to go away you have to let him go.”

19:05 UPDATE: Perisic did not play

Ivan Perisic was left on the bench as Inter Milan lost 1-0 to Torino today.

Perisic started on the bench for manager Luciano Spalletti but was not called upon when Inter were chasing the game.

Instead, the winger was left to stew on the bench as his future remains unresolved.

Spalletti is expected to speak about his decision to drop Perisic shortly…

18:45 UPDATE: Ozil swap rejected

There is no chance of Arsenal swapping Mesut Ozil for Ivan Perisic, it has been claimed.

Arsenal were thought to be considering using Ozil as a makeweight to landing Perisic.

But Inter cannot afford the player’s £350,000-a-week wages and want Arsenal to cover half of that salary.

And the Gunners are unwilling to meet this demand, meaning Ozil’s part in this transfer is off.

18:20 UPDATE: Inter talks on Monday

Inter Milan directors will discuss a possible replacement for Ivan Perisic on Monday.

The club are interested in signing Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese.

And that deal could give the green light to Perisic moving to Arsenal.

Inter would prefer to sell Perisic now in order to use the money on a swoop for De Paul.

17:00 UPDATE: Arsenal stuck over deal

Arsenal want to sign Ivan Perisic on loan until the end of the season – before then making the move permanent.

But they are struggling to meet Inter’s demands, with the Serie A club wanting a fee for the six-month loan.

Sky Italia claim Inter want £4.3m to release Perisic to the Emirates.

They will then chase a £35m permanent sale at the end of the season.

16:45 UPDATE: Perisic benched by Spalletti

Is this the club Ivan Perisic’s days at Inter Milan are numbered?

The Croatian has been benched by manager Luciano Spalletti for their clash with Torino today.

Perisic wants to leave the club and Arsenal are interested in his signature.

And he may never play for Inter again if a deal can be struck before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

16:30 UPDATE: Perisic transfer request

Ivan Perisic has handed in his transfer request in an effort to get out of Inter Milan.

Arsenal want to sign Perisic and director Giuseppe Marotta says the player is keen to leave.

“Perisic has asked to leave but there is no offer for him. We will see in the coming days (what happens),” Marotta said.

“We will listen to the request of Perisic, he has put in a transfer request; we must try to satisfy him but also respect the value of him.”
