EastEnders spoilers: Alfie Moon to return with Janine Butcher in MAJOR twist?

Alfie (played by Shane Richie) left EastEnders this week, after conning Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) into handing over a large amount of money.

The Slater household was rocked when the police arrived to inform Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) Alfie’s car had been found at the edge of a cliff, making it seem he had taken his own life.

However, Kat wasn’t convinced and later discovered the cash Alfie had obtained, followed by a cryptic text saying he needed some time to sort things out.

With Kat content her husband will be returning, she won’t be expecting fellow BBC soap schemer Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) to be on his tail.

Janine has a riddled history on the soap of being a notorious con woman, scamming almost all the men on the Square to get her hands on their cash.

The schemer was last seen leaving Walford behind after she was acquitted for the murder of Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd), Alfie’s cousin and father to her daughter Scarlett and the biological father of Kat’s son Tommy.

After overhearing someone had just won the lottery, it seemed Janine was going to try her best to get her hands on a million or two.

If her plan was successful, she could now be living a life of luxury and needing some help with his finances, Alfie could have got in contact under the ruse he wanted to see Scarlett.

Speaking about a possible return on Through the Keyhole, Janine actress Charlie Brooks, 37, said: “I’ve been in and out a few times.”

When asked if she wanted to return, the actress teased: “It’s always on the mind. Never say never, it’s a great place to work.”

Knowing Janine however, it won’t be as simple as handing over money.

The ruthless con woman will want something in return, therefore if she does return alongside Alfie, will she be set on making the Slater’s life hell?

Janine is also the owner of the Slater house, so, could she use the property as her bargaining chip to ensure Alfie meets her demands?

Viewers will have to stay tuned to see if Janine will make a comeback, but in the meantime, another Walford resident will be bidding farewell to the Square.

It has been announced Masood Ahmed star Nitin Ganatra, 51, will be bowing out of the role later this year.

Masood only made his return to the Square last year followed by his auntie Mariam Ahmed (Indira Joshi) and uncle Arshad Ahmed (Madhav Sharma).

Speaking of his exit, Masood told Metro: “I am still deeply attached to Masood and have invested much emotion into making this character memorable.

“I will of course miss EastEnders and the wonderful people that work tirelessly to bring audiences dramatic, funny and compelling stories.”

However, the Ahmed family will only continue to grow as two new additions in the form of Mariam and Arshad’s granddaughter’s Iqra Ahmed (Priya Davdra) and Habiba Ahmed (Rukku Nahar) will be arriving on the Square.

What mischief will they bring to Walford?

EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
