Brian McFadden: ‘They probably don’t like me’ Dancing on Ice star speaks on co-stars

Dancing On Ice 2019 contestant Brian McFadden, 38, admitted he’s only stayed in contact with Nicky Byrne, 40, since leaving the band in 2004 and insisted the others “probably don’t” like him. Speaking to Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin on Heart radio today, Brian said: “I speak to Nicky on Twitter. “They’re kind of like your other celebrity friends. “Coz if you follow each other on Twitter, we’re basically best friends now.

“So yeah I have the odd Twitter chat with Nicky but the rest of us haven’t.

“There’s no bad blood, it’s not like I don’t like them or…well I don’t know if they don’t like me, they probably don’t like me but.”

Explaining further, Brian added: “It’s just one of those things, it’s like you go to college with people, when you leave college you don’t stay hanging out for the rest of your life, you move on.”

Brian is currently competing on Dancing On Ice with his dance partner Alex Murphy.

Ahead of his performance last week, he jokingly bribed judge Jason Gardiner with a new car in a bid to get higher scores.

Taking to Twitter in view of his 344,000 Twitter followers, he tweeted: “@officialJasonG I need your address please.

“The Rolls Royce I bought for you will be delivered this week. Looking forward to seeing my scores this week.”

Jason humorously replied: “You can’t even get a bribe right!

“I prefer Bentley over Rolls. I look forward to seeing your scores too! [blowing kiss emoji].”

The singer replied: “Ah s**t!”

But despite his bribery fail, Brian earned a total of 22 out of 40 points from judges Jason, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in a musical-themed show.

Ahead of the show this week, Dancing On Ice’s Creative Director Dan Whiston said Brian was still suffering from a shoulder injury he suffered earlier this month.

He said: “Brian is in quite a lot of pain with his shoulder injury, but he’s not letting it get him down or slow him down.

“He’s having a lot of physio and carrying on with his training as he knows he can’t afford to lose any ice time.”

Dancing On Ice continues tonight at 6pm on ITV.

Tune in to Heart Breakfast with Jamie and Lucy, weekdays from 6am – 9am.
