Tom Jones love child: How Sir Tom IGNORED desperate plea to meet estranged son

Sir Tom Jones has returned to show business with The Voice UK this year and is enjoying the public spotlight despite his estranged son begging to see him. The hugely popular 78-year-old singer made his debut in the 1960s as frontman for band Tommy Scott and the Senators and has gone on to develop incredible popularity in the UK and US as a solo act. He was previously dropped from the series by the BBC before it was taken over by ITV, and due to public outcry made it back as a judge in the new series. Despite being married to wife Melinda Rose Trenchard for 59 years, Jones was known for his numerous flings, and one of his alleged love children has reached out.

Sir Tom was due to perform at a show in Chester last year but had to pull out due to a bacterial infection.

The singer’s health prompted a man claiming to be his son to speak out, saying he was pushing himself.

Jonathan Berkery claims to be the son of Jones from an affair he had in the US during his 40’s.

Now living as a homeless busker, he said: “Please let me see you before it is too late.”

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the busker said: “He’s not well, I think he’s pushing himself too much.

“I reached out to his son Mark, my half brother, last year to see if I could arrange a meeting.

“Now I refuse to wait – I want to see my dad and make my peace with him.

“When I was younger, I was angry and confused.

“I didn’t want to see him. But now I worry about him constantly.”

He continued: “When his wife Linda passed I hoped we could finally meet and get to know each other but it didn’t happen.

“Now I worry about him being ill.

“He’s old, he might pass before I get the chance to right the wrongs.

“I don’t want anything from my father, all I want to do is sit and talk, tell him about my life and ask about his – just normal stuff.”

According to Mr Berkery, he was conceived when Sir Tom was in New York aged 47.

He claims the singer had a three-day fling with model Katherine Berkery, at the time just 24-years-old.

When she fell pregnant, Ms Berkery attempted to contact Jones, and reached his assistant, who allegedly said: “That’s showbiz darling, do what you have to do.”

Mr Berkery’s claims are not unfounded, however, as a DNA test found Tom Jones was, in fact, his father, and judges ordered the star to pay £1,700 a month in maintenance.
