Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard to LA Clippers – HUGE NBA claim made

Both superstars have the opportunity to become free agents in the summer, and are both set to talk to other potential franchises.

Leonard traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Toronto Raptors before the season began, but his contract only had one year remaining on it, with many believing he would not stay for long.

Last week, made headlines after buying a home for $13.3million, just south of Los Angeles.

This news sent Raptors fans into a panic, as it was perceived to be a big hint over his future.

And many believe Durant is also set to move on this summer, after three years at the Golden State Warriors.

In a recent interview Durant said that this summer, if he opts out of the remaining year of his contract, he wants to secure as much money as possible.

And ESPN reporter Stephen A. Smith declared that he believes both could be LA Clippers players next season.

“You’ve got Kevin Durant, who owns a home in LA, and might want to come to LA,” he said.

“You’ve got Kawhi Leonard who just bought a home for $13million in San Diego, because he’s from there, even though it’s not in LA per say.

“It’s entirely possible that the Clippers could end up with Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant when all is said and done.

“The thing is, [Steve] Ballmer [Clippers owner] won’t hesitate, he’ll spend that money.

“And collectively, Ballmer with Jerry West [Clippers board member], with Doc Rivers [Clippers head coach], they’ll recruit well enough to get one superstar, if not two.

Smith also suggested that the pressure will be ramped up on the Los Angeles Lakers if both stars head to the Clippers.

“Steve Ballmer has some of the deepest pockets in the NBA,” he continued.

“If you can create the cap space to get two max salary players, and you’ve got Kevin Durant saying what he’s saying [wants money in free agency this summer], and you’ve got Kawhi Leonard up in Toronto indicating he would rather be in LA, the reality is that is the Clippers get these guys, it puts more pressure on Magic [Johnson].”
