Bethany Platt (played by Lucy Fallon) has recently been getting closer to Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) on Coronation Street after her harrowing grooming ordeal over the past couple of years.
The young characters have been flirting for months, with Ryan taking an almost fall blow to the head from Bethany’s mother Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brian) when the two were in the midst of a passionate embrace.
However since then, the attraction has still be there between the two, not going unnoticed by their family and friends, but it has evidently become awkward.
Ryan may have to up his game however if he wants to have a relationship with Bethany as a newcomer to the ITV soap could ruin any chance of a future.
According to Wales Online, it has revealed actor Luca Malacrino will be arriving in Weatherfield in a recurring role.
Although not much has been revealed about the newcomer, the character will arrive for Italy “full of passion, style and charisma,” Luca revealed.
As Bethany and her mother Sarah lived in Milan for several years before they made their return to the cobbles four years ago, it could be the Italian character is a face from Bethany’s past.
Now more mature, Bethany could begin flirting with the newcomer, in turn making Ryan incredibly jealous of the attention his crush is receiving.
Will the arrival make Ryan confess his true feelings to Bethany, or is the end to any chance the two had of a future together?
The arrival will come after Adam Barlow (Scott Robertson) departs from Weatherfield following a brief dalliance with Bethany’s mother.
In last night’s episode, a drunk Sarah ended up back at Adam’s flat having had a disagreement with partner Gary Windass (Mikey North) over their recent money issues.
The lawyer tried to make a move on Sarah, but she soon knocked him back, admitting she was committed to her relationship with Gary.
Storming out the flat, the pair were seen by Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) who was punched by Adam for trying to intervene.
Although Sarah convinced Seb nothing had happened between the pair, the young builder reveals all to Gary next week, leading to a confrontation between Gary and the lawyer.
However, Adam reveals he is going travelling for a few months, leaving Sarah in the lurch over the drunken moment.
