Emmerdale spoilers: Zak Dingle RETURNS to save Cain from guilty Joe Tate murder charge?

Emmerdale’s long-serving family the Dingles have had a difficult time recently, as well as their own family feud.

But it seems the head of the family will be back to sort out the drama.

Zak Dingle (played by Steve Halliwell) has been absent from television screens for over six months and it comes after the actor has suffered from major health problems.

It comes as Steve spoke to The Sun about his time away from the Dales and explained how he was forced to take five months off work in order to have a pacemaker fitted.

Steve, who is currently Emmerdal’s second longest serving cast member has revealed he will be “back at work in a few weeks”.

“I’m feeling fitter than ever after having a pacemaker fitted in September. It’s done me the world of good and I feel fantastic.”

He also spoke about the soap being “brilliant throughout” his operation and recovery, having “really looked after [him]”.

“I did have to spend some time in hopsital and it was really funny to see the entire Dingle clan around my bed,” the actor discussed.

“Everyone has been so considerate and I know it sounds a bit cliche, but we really are one big happy family.”

As for what’s in store for his character Zak, Steve spoke about his future storylines describing them as “great” and added how excited he was to get back on set, “I can’t wait to get stuck into filming”.

Zak hasn’t been in the village since September when he left to get away from all the drama.

However, he left Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in charge as head of the family, but it seems he needs his father now more than ever.

It comes as Cain was arrested for suspicion over the murder of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) after he punched him the evening of the Masquerade Charity Ball last October.

His actions has caused a feud between many of the Dingle women, one of those unsurprisingly being daughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Well).

Alongside this, daughter Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) had to recently come face to face with her murdering ex-boyfriend Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson).

Will Zak come back and sort out his family drama? Alongside this, could ex-wife Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox) also make a return?

Elsewhere in Emmerdale, Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) reached breaking point tonight when he was rushed to hopsital following a night of sleeping rough and contracting hyperthermia.

But during his scenes in the hopsital, he spoke strongly about leaving the village.

He said: “It’s obvious I’m going to have to move away. There’s no work for me here. No, no I’m not going back, couldn’t stand the pity. It might not look like it but I’ve still got some pride.”

As Zak arrives, is Bob going to depart?

Emmerdale airs weeknights eat 7pm on ITV.
