Debbie McGee, 60, who was a finalist on Strictly Come Dancing 2017, has said she felt it was the loss of her husband and the stress it caused which triggered the disease. The Strictly star revealed the operation was a success but admitted the process did “scare” her. Debbie was reportedly diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in October and had the affected areas removed this month. Speaking to The Sun, Debbie said: “It scared me to death. Stress, I think caused mine.
“I’ve never been through the stress I’ve been through since I lost Paul. Grief hits you in so many ways you’re not expecting. It’s not all about sadness.”
Debbie was married to magician and television presenter Paul Daniels’ before he died of an incurable brain tumour in 2016.
Speaking about her diagnosis, the radio host revealed the mammograms “scared her to death.”
She told the publication: “Although I’ve had mammograms every two years I never thought for a minute I’d ever have it myself. It scared me to death.”
Debbie revealed she was concerned about what the doctors would find and what she would look like after the operations.
She continued: “I was worried about what they’d find — and very worried about what I’d look like.
“That was a really scary moment when they took all my dressings off.
“Yet I couldn’t even see where she (the surgeon) had cut me. I just thought it was amazing.”

Meanwhile, Debbie said goodbye to her panto co-stars as they put on their last show together earlier this month.
She uploaded a picture of herself with the rest of the cast on stage with the empty theatre in the background as they concluded their final rehearsal.
“Last panto warm up with our fantastic dancers. Miss you already,” she said.
Debbie could be seen standing in the front of the group, her legs spread wide in a bendy pose and her arms outstretched dramatically.
She flaunted her limbs in a pair of skintight floral leggings and a matching zippered jumper, adding bright pink leg warmers and trainers to complete the bold look.
Fans took to the comments section to praise her touching upload.
“Such a poser,” one teased, while another gushed: “Love this!”
