Bernie Sanders 'to run AGAIN for President in 2020' to CHALLENGE Trump for White House

Mr Sanders, 77, an independent and self-described ‘democratic socialist,’ plans to announce a presidential bid amid a surge in popularity in early polls, Yahoo News reports. The news outlet cited two people with direct knowledge of his plans, saying Mr Sanders will make his announcement “imminently”. One source revealed the politician has been spurred on by multiple national polls showing him near the top of a crowded pack of possible Democratic candidates.

The left-leaning legislator is one of the leading candidates among African American and Latino voters – two groups he was believed to be struggling to reach in 2016.

Another insider also highlighted a series of recent polls which show Mr Sanders as the most popular politician in the US.

They said: “What the senator has this time that he didn’t have last time is he is the most popular elected official in the country right now.

“That’s light years away from 2016 when very few people knew who he was.”

A third source told Yahoo News Mr Sanders would announce a presidential exploratory committee.

They said: “He’s already talking to staff and there are people he’s hiring.

“They’re nailing down contracts with vendors all the movement is there for him to run.”

Mr Sanders was one of the main Democratic contenders to run for President in 2016 before he was pipped to the place in the primaries by his rival Hillary Clinton.

On July 26, 2016, Mrs Clinton was announced as the Democratic nominee for the 2016 US presidential race, which she went on to fight and lose.

Despite the fact Mr Sanders will be entering a crowded Democratic field to achieve the nomination in 2020, he is starting from a formidable position, with early polls suggesting him to be one of the top candidates.

The reason for his renewed popularity is likely as a result of the support he established in 2016.
