Windows 10 is Microsoft’s desktop operating system that is incredibly popular.
In fact, Windows itself is by far the most-used computer software around, surpassing the likes of Linux and macOS in terms of active users.
Microsoft typically releases substantial updates for Window 10 twice a year.
Last year such upgrades were delivered to fans in April and October respectively.
It is assumed the American tech giant will stick to a similar release pattern this year, meaning the next major improvement for the operating system is expected in April.
Ahead of the software’s debut for all users, Microsoft has started releasing preview builds for Windows 10 version 19H1, the anticipated April 2019 update.
Those who are members of the Windows Insider programme are able to test early builds of the software, giving an early glimpse into forthcoming features.
The preview builds have already indicated a number of changes are coming to Windows 10, including a refined Start menu, new Sandbox software and more.
Microsoft has announced the Start menu has been “simplified” to make navigating more intuitive overall while Sandbox seeks to create an isolated desktop environment that allows the user to test suspicious applications.
Explaining both additions, the company said: “Based on your feedback, we’re introducing a simplified default Start layout for new devices, new user accounts, and clean installs.
“The new layout has been simplified into a sleek one column design with reduced top-level tiles.
“Windows Sandbox is a new lightweight desktop environment tailored for safely running applications in isolation.
“Any software installed in Windows Sandbox stays only in the sandbox and cannot affect your host. Once Windows Sandbox is closed, all the software with all of its files and state are permanently deleted.”
Despite the fact version 19H1 has not released to the public yet, new evidence has surfaced that suggests the American tech behemoth is already working on the next huge update for Windows 10, 19H2.
WZor has seemingly discovered the first build of the software that is expected to debut for Windows 10 fans towards the end of this year.
Last year Microsoft delivered its second update of 2018 in October and it is expected to follow similar timings this year.
Unfortunately it was not discussed if the new build brings any substantial new improvements to the table.
Moreover, it is also worth noting Microsoft has not officially confirmed the existence of Windows 10 update 19H2.
