ORIGINAL: Overwatch fans are counting down to the start of the Lunar New Year event for 2019.

And fortunately there’s not long to wait, because the Lunar New Year event has a January 24 release date.

The Year of the Pig in-game event runs for roughly three weeks, ending on February 18.

To build some hype for the upcoming event, Blizzard has unveiled a selection of new skins.

In a series of tweets, Blizzard has revealed the Lu Bu Reaper skin, the Huang Zhong Hanzo outfit, the Guan Yu Reinhardt costume and the Zhuge Liang Zenyatta unlockable.

Blizzard will reveal one final skin in the run up to the big event on Thursday.

In the meantime, you can take a look at the skins above and below.

Anybody who missed last year’s event will also be able to unlock older skins at a cheaper price point.

With the Lunar New Year event make a comeback, players can expect to see the return of a fan-favourite game mode.

Capture the Flag is almost certain to make a return with a brand new map to accompany it.

“In Capture the Flag, teams face off, attempting to secure the enemy flag while the opposing team does the same,” reads the official Blizzard description.

Last year saw the introduction of Competitive Capture the Flag, complete with its own set of rewards.

The 2018 Lunar New Year event also introduced new Capture the Flag gameplay tweaks.

Flag pick-ups became instant, there was a five second delay when dropped and sudden death was introduced.

“When time runs out, the round starts over, the flags are moved closer to the center of the map, and the first team to capture wins.”

Blizzard is almost certain to make more changes for this year’s event, so stay tuned for more information.
