Man Utd news: Sanchez and Lukaku issue, Woodward’s £100m transfer plan, Arsenal stance

Man Utd star Sanchez in Lukaku issue

Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez’s biggest issue with Jose Mourinho was his determination to always play Romelu Lukaku.

Mourinho left Old Trafford back in December with the Red Devils stuck in a rut.

And ESPN say Sanchez, who joined Manchester United from Arsenal in January last year, was furious at Mourinho’s decision to often play Lukaku up top.

Sanchez flourished in a No 9 role when at Arsenal.

But Mourinho refused to give him the chance to prove himself as United’s leading man over at Old Trafford.

Woodward’s £100m transfer plan

Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is prepared to sign a player for £100million if they become available.

That’s according to the Manchester Evening News.

It is claimed the Red Devils supremo will only make a signing for that amount, however, if the right player fits the bill.

Woodward would ideally like to sign a centre-back.

And moves for Kalidou Koulibaly and Raphael Varane have both been mooted in recent times.

Arsenal stance

Manchester United star Eric Bailly does not want to join Arsenal, reports say.

The Gunners have failed with a loan enquiry for the Ivory Coast international, who has struggled this season.

But the Daily Mail say Bailly wants to stay at Old Trafford.

The defender’s contract expires in 2020, though the club have the option of a two-year extension.

And Arsenal may now be forced to look elsewhere.
