Death in Paradise 2019: Florence to QUIT? Fans fear for sergeant after big announcement

Death in Paradise is known for its chilling murder mysteries but tonight it was a lighter affair.

It was all down to Florence Cassell (played by Joséphine Jobert) who popped up at the bar.

She had been absent all episode as the detective sergeant took some well-earned time off.

But she was on hand to celebrate another closed case with Jack Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon) and the rest of the team.

Florence arrived with her new partner who she has definitely been getting on well with.

She said they had a lovely day off and had been relaxing on the island.

And just like that, Florence dropped into the conversation she had got engaged.

The whole Death in Paradise cast were thrilled but as a result it left fans worried.

Some thought this would be the beginning of the end of island life for Florence and many flocked to Twitter to share their woes.

One wrote: “Nooooo! That is NOT good news! Another @deathinparadise spouse to go missing???? Run for the hills…”

Another added: “Florence is leaving isn’t she.  #deathinparadise.”

A third wept: “Oh my word, if the finale going to be the Death in Paradise Wedding, it’s not a wedding if there’s not a murder. just don’t stay at that hotel, or anywhere…just stay at home. get the commisoner to do it, in five minutes. safer that way.”

“So happy for Florence!! But can’t help being skeptical, we haven’t known her fiancé for long, none the less, I hope she’s very happy,” said a fourth.

Earlier in the episode, viewers were left in hysterics from an unusual coincidence.

Poor Catrina (Kimberley Nixon) found herself killed and washed up on a beach.

It was revealed she was drowned in the midnight waves.

But fans couldn’t ignore the cheeky reference to eighties’ band Katrina and the Waves.

One said: “Isn’t anyone going to ask if they saw Katrina in the waves?”

“Katrina in the waves? Too soon?” tweeted a second.

Death in Paradise airs Thursdays on BBC One at 9pm.
