Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne shoots The Aeronauts in London – WATCH (EXCLUSIVE)

Taking a break in between Fantastic Beasts sequels, Redmayne was spotted shooting scenes from his latest movie near St Pancras in London. A 19th-century action adventure, The Aeronauts sees the 37-year-old star as scientist James Glaisher. Rogue One’s Felicity Jones joins him as pilot Amelia Wren, as the two fight for survival attempting to make discoveries in a hot air balloon. The real Glaisher famously broke the world record for altitude in 1862, with a height of as much as 10,900 metres above sea-level.

During such a feat he and his real-life co-pilot, Henry Tracey Coxwell, had trouble staying conscious and the latter managed to eventually force the hot air balloon down.

In an exclusive video captured on the set, Redmayne is seen exiting a shop onto a busy Victorian street, before putting on a tall black top hat.

Meanwhile, the star is set to reprise his role as Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts 3.

Set for a late 2020 release date, the sequel to The Crimes of Grindelwald’s filming has been delayed.

According to Deadline, Fantastic Beasts 3 was set to start shooting in July but now will more likely begin in late autumn.

Apparently, this is to allow more preparation time for the third outing.

In total there will be five Fantastic Beasts films, with the fourth due in 2022 and the final outing in 2024.

The first film was set in 1926 and the last will finish in 1945 when Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald in a duel, winning the Elder Wand.

WAS GRINDELWALD LYING AT THE END OF FANTASTIC BEASTS 2?

Ezra Miller has since spoken out on The Crimes of Grindelwald’s shocking reveal.  WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD.

He said: “There’s an opportunity for me as an actor to look to five of my favourite performances of all time — the people I’ve seen play Albus and Aberforth. Shout out to all those incredible actors, and I’m thrilled to play the game that we’re now blood relations. It’s very fun.”

Miller certainly didn’t say his Aurelius was Albus’ brother, but he’s definitely a Dumbledore.

The Aeronauts is released in UK cinemas on November 1, 2019.
