Cleaning Up on ITV: ‘On my God!’ Viewers SHOCKED by unexpected plot twist

Cleaning Up is the new series on ITV starring Sheridan Smith as cleaner, Sam, who ends up embroiled in insider trading.

She’s a cleaner in London’s Canary Wharf on a zero hour contract, yet her fortunes turn when becomes involved in illegal insider trading.

Sam also has a gambling problem, which is why she is having to work multiple jobs so that she can provide for her kids.

Sam had planted a listening device in the office so that she could overhear what the traders were discussing.

This device was found, and a woman had been brought in to investigate possible insider trading.

However, this evening’s episode saw Sam take things up a notch as she found a burner phone taped to the bottom of someone’s desk with mysterious texts to a man called Swaney on it.

She meets with this man and it looks like all is going according to plan.

Yet, tonight’s episode ended when the woman investigating the listening device walked into the rather illegal meeting.

This plot twist got fans very excited and they took to social media to comment on the moment.

One viewer tweeted: “Okay that’s just what the show needed, the other lady turned up.”

Another said: “OH. MY. GOD!”

“The plot thickens,” a third wrote.

A fourth viewer added: “Why have I got a horrible feeling this isn’t gonna bode well?”

Meanwhile, other viewers were baffled by Sam’s action on last week’s episode.

Sam had to infiltrate the bank she had been cleaning during the day, and viewers were puzzled by the fact that the bank had no CCTV.

Viewers began posting their frustration on Twitter with one saying: “No CCTV in the office?! #cleaningup.”

Another said: “Are there no cameras in the building? #CleaningUp.”

While a third exclaimed: “OMG you would lock your computer!!! #Cleaningup.”

Viewers will have to wait until next week to find out what will happen to Sam.
