Philip Schofield: 'This is not funny' ITV star is caught up in lift fiasco after NTA 2019

Phillip Schofield, 56, appeared frustrated when he stood in a crowded elevator after winning big at the National Television Awards in London last night.

The This Morning host documented his struggle to move in the packed lift on Snapchat and revealed some of the celebrities who were caught up in the chaos with him.

When he panned the camera around, Paddy McGuiness, who hosts Top Gear, was filmed being playfully slapped by Holly Willoughby’s husband Daniel Baldwin.

Also in the background was The Voice UK presenter Emma Willis, who giggled as the TV personality span his camera around to face her.

Then, Phillip filmed his ITV co-star Holly, who had been chatting away with guests, before giving the camera a cheeky grin.

While the mother-of-three looked to be enjoying the elevator antics, Phillip scowled and gave his fellow passengers a disapproving look, while a female voice shouted: “This is no longer funny”.

Of course, this was meant in jest as a subtle smile was noticeable, despite the broadcaster’s pulling a face.

The father-of-two had a lot to be happy about as his show, This Morning, won the Best Daytime Show award, beating both Good Morning Britain and Loose Women.

Collecting the accolade, 37-year-old Holly said: “It’s 30 years and the fact that our show has been on for 30 years and still you vote and enjoy the show means everything to us because without you the show wouldn’t be possible.”

Praising her colleagues Eamonn Holmes, 59, and Ruth Langsford, 58, she added: “Eamonn and Ruth, we adore you, our experts.”

Meanwhile, Phillip thanked fans of the show for voting for them, as well as the team behind the daytime programme.

“Thank you, thank you so much for voting for us again, we never take it for granted,” he began.

“We love our family, our This Morning family are amazing the viewers, who watch it, are our family and we love them as well.”

Piers Morgan appeared extremely disappointed during the ceremony as Good Morning Britain lost out to This Morning in the Best Daytime Show category.

When Phillip and Holly won, Piers pulled a miserable expression, but then burst out laughing and went to shake their hands.

However, he later took to Twitter following the loss and seemed a little sour about missing out on the prize.

Piers responded to a GIF posted by ITV of the moment Good Morning Britain were beat and the network wrote next to it: “Bad luck, @PiersMorgan”.

He penned: “We can tell you’re absolutely delighted for @ThisMorning for scooping Best Daytime Show though. Vegan sausage rolls all round!”

Earlier in the night, the father-of-four posted a picture of him breaking the rules at the ceremony by posing next to a no selfie sign.

The journalist beamed beside the sign along with pals Jamie Redknapp his son Jamie, Freddie Flintoff, Jack Whitehall and Mark Wright.
