NTA 2019: Holly Willoughby shares heartfelt message from Ant and Dec after win

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bagged a coveted National Television Award this evening.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were sadly unable to go and collect an award for their show, but stand-in host Holly Willoughby was on hand to collect it on their behalf.

The This Morning presenter held on to the statue and revealed she had some small words from the Geordie lads for the audience.

She said: “I spoke to the boys earlier tonight and they told me to say thank you to everyone for voting for something very close to their heart.”

Going on to discuss her own role as a presenter, Holly added: “I managed to jump into one of my favourite TV shows.

Holly then passed over to reigning champion of the jungle, Harry Redknapp, to see what he had to say on the matter.

Praising the show, he said: “Holly, I thought you and Dec did an amazing job.

“It was a hard act to follow.”

Holly was up on the stage a lot this evening as This Morning got the big Daytime Award.

But it didn’t seem to go down well with everyone.

Piers Morgan was spotted looking considerably annoyed Good Morning Britain lost out to This Morning.

As the winner was announced, he was captured on camera looking decidedly unimpressed with the whole thing.

But his co-host Susanna Reid was in hysterics over the whole thing and couldn’t control her giggles.

Fans were thrilled by the moment and flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the moment.

One wrote: “Seeing GMB and Piers Morgan miss out to Holly & Phil was highlight of my week.”

A second added: “Piers Morgans face says it all, when This Morning won!”

A third said: “Piers Morgan’s fuming at losing against this morning #NTAs oh well.”

At the very beginning of the National Television Awards, host Dermot O’Leary took a joking swipe at Holly Willoughby.

While introducing everyone to the programme, Dermot paused for a little bit on the This Morning beauty.

He laughed, while referring ti himself as this evening’s presenter: “One of the few television shows on ITV not hosted by Holly Willoughby!”
