Stefanos Tsitsipas: Who is Roger Federer opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas? What seed is he?

Stefanos Tsitsipas has gone toe-to-toe with Roger Federer in the fourth round of the Australian Open today.

The 20-year-old star has battled through the rounds to reach this stage of the competition for the first time in his short career.

Tsitsipas has shot up the rankings over the past year following an impressive display at Wimbledon last year.

He was defeated 7-6 7-6 by Federer at the Hopman Cup last month but didn’t seem fazed following his encounter with the Swiss master.

“I always imagined it would be much more difficult to face that kind of player but doing the right things on the court didn’t seem really difficult to me,” said Tsitsipas.

“The patterns I used today were very good, I did not have to run too much, I was being aggressive from the first very ball after my serve.

“I noticed we did not have long rallies, today everything was happening very fast, and actually and unusual game, I am not used to such a fast tempo, such a fast service game.”
