Red Dead Redemption 2 Online: Latest Multiplayer news for Red Dead Online

Red Dead Redemption 2 has proven a massive sales hit for Rockstar Games on PS4 and Xbox One and are now focused on their next big project.

That would be Red Dead Online, the big multiplayer experience that’s trying to emulate the success of GTA Online.

However, while GTA 5’s multiplayer launched as a pretty unique experience, the RDR2 beta is facing a tougher test.

And the recently released Gun Rush mode has not proven enough for some players, who are still waiting for a major online expansion.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that new content is in the works that will help expand the mode in new ways.

The current version is still filled with people but doesn’t do much to make it different from the single-player experience.

More is needed to fill up the world, which Rockstar says is one of their priorities.

And they will certainly need something more than Gun Rush mode, which recently made it debut.

One of the major new parts of the recent Red Dead Online update, it provides another experience for fans who enjoy Battle Royale.

However, players have been left wanting more, with plenty of feedback being provided on how to improve it.

Issues with joining lobbies and players quitting are some of the things players want to see improved, among changes to the map size and resource selection.

One user writes: “Rockstar had an opportunity to create a AAA battle royale game mode on the most beautiful and detailed open world map ever created.

“Instead, this feels like another messy deathmatch mode with too few, or in the rare chance, the lobby fills, too many players on far too small of a map.

“With so many good examples out there, I’m not sure how Rockstar was able to miss the mark so badly.”

It certainly sounds like fans are ready for more Red Dead Online content to arrive, so what can we expect to be added next to the RDR2 beta?

Rockstar says they have a lot more to announce in the future but have yet to reveal everything for PS4 and Xbox One.

It sounds like new Races and Showdown Modes are coming, activities that will prove less popular than the other stuff Rockstar has planned.

This includes fresh clothing to buy and emotes to unlock, as well new Daily Challenges that will help keep players busy.

Rockstar’s bounty system is also changing, with an allotted time being added to pay it off before things start escalating and ending with bounty hunters from each of the states tracking the player, forcing them to either pay up or escape.

Other confirmed updates include new story missions being added to the game, which are sorely needed.

Players are also looking for new ways to make money and also cool stuff to spend it on.

New “War Wagons” with mounted weapons and armour plating have been reported, although it’s unclear if this is something next to the game.

Properties have also been discovered, with around ten different locations expected to be added in the future.

Some fans are also hoping for new map expansions, be it in Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer, or as some kind of DLC.

Rockstar Games never released new single-player content for GTA 5, something that fans don’t want to see happen with RDR2.

A new area has been found that appears to have been cut from the final release of RDR2.

It can be found at the top of the map and includes its own wildlife to hunt and special effects to engage with.

Ice walls and frozen lakes have been found by players who have managed to glitch into the area.

The fact that this place remains locked suggests that Rockstar Games won’t be using it for the time being.

There is no guarantee this will ever be used, but it would certainly prove great exclusive content for Online.

WHEN DOES THE RDR2 BETA END?

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the current multiplayer mode is in the beta phase of testing.

This means that it isn’t the finished product and could likely suffer from issues connected with server crashes and gameplay bugs.

And it sounds like the RDR2 beta might not end for some time. A recent message from the development team confirmed it could last months.

This would mean that Red Dead Online beta testing would not end until Spring 2019.

“Red Dead Online will stay in beta for a few more months yet as we have many more new gameplay features to add across the board as well as further changes to improve, stabilise and refine the overall experience,” the latest message from Rockstar confirms.

PS4 and Xbox One gamers will be wanting to know when the next Red Dead Online expansion is being planned and how long they will have to wait for it.
