Peaky Blinders season 5 spoilers Cillian Murphy show to return SOONER than you think

With Peaky Blinders fans patiently waiting for the series to return for the next instalment on the notorious Shelby family, a new spoiler photo has been released.

The show’s official Twitter account posted the photo, with the tweet: “That’s a wrap! By order of the #PeakyBlinders cast and crew.”

The snap shows 42-year-old Tommy Shelby actor Cillian Murphy surrounded by the production team and crew.

Fans of the show rushed to reply back to the tweet about their excitement for the upcoming series.

One fan tweeted: “@ThePeakyBlinder Can’t bl**dy wait for the Blinders to hit our tv screens – taking forever. Great photo though.”

Only spotting Cillian, one concerned fan tweeted: “I’m scared. There are people missing, and it makes me nervous. I’m almost done season 4.”

“@ThePeakyBlinder @RobertViglasky Can’t help but instantly look for Cillian & sure he stands out! #WhatABeauty Well done to everyone involved making the show. Now to wait (I’m)patiently for series 5 to be on TV!” said another.

A third wrote: “@ThePeakyBlinder Omg can’t wait for Tommy and everyone to be back on screen sounds like it’s going to blow series 4 out of the water!”

Peaky Blinders season four proved a huge hit as the drama intensified and left viewers with an explosive finale episode, with Tommy Shelby even being elected as an MP for Birmingham South.

The series ended with the Shelby family finally confronting mob boss Luca Changretta (Adrien Brody), with the fifth follow-up expected to focus on Tommy’s worsening mental health when the drama returns to BBC One in the summer of 2019.

But now the show has finished filming in January 2019, could the release date be brought forward?

Paul Anderson’s Arthur Shelby will also gain political connections in season five – could they use their newfound power to manipulate their surroundings further?

BBC Drama released its trailer for 2019 earlier this month and teased a few upcoming scenes from the new series.

The BBC’s trailer teased Whitehall in the new series, where Tommy will become a politician with a vision to change Britain forever.

However, in one split-second clip, it appeared Tommy could have been laying flat-out alongside a co-star after his car had been blown up.

Just moments later, in what appears to be the same scene with fire flickering to the side from the burning car, Tommy is clutching what seems to be the dead friend or family member that was laying beside him.

Has Tommy survived the explosion but lost a close relative or colleague in a targeted attack?

Based on official set photographs released by the BBC, it looks as though Finn Shelby (Harry Kirton) is the explosion victim.

Finn is Tommy and Arthur’s younger brother, and it’s not the first time he has been involved in a car bomb.

There is no air date for Peaky Blinders as yet but is expected anywhere between the summer and autumn this year.
