Manny Pacquiao next fight: Will Pacquiao announce Floyd Mayweather rematch after Broner?

Floyd Mayweather will be ringside tonight as speculation mounts over a rematch with Manny Pacquiao in the near future.

The pair battled it out in 2015 in a bout dubbed the ‘fight of the century’, which Mayweather claimed with a comfortable victory via a unanimous decision.

The American star recently won an exhibition bout against Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan but insists he is still retired.

However, British promoter Eddie Hearn believes Mayweather’s presence tonight means the duo will finally announce their highly anticipated rematch.

Asked for his prediction on Pacquiao vs Broner, Hearn said: “Pacquiao points, wide.

“I don’t see Broner as the guy that’s gonna force the action.

“I think Pacquiao’s gonna be in and out, nicking rounds.

“I see him winning and then they’ll announce the Floyd Mayweather fight for September in the ring on Saturday night.”

Pacquiao bumped into his old foe earlier this month at the Staples Center in Los Angeles while attending an LA Clippers’ home game.

The pair exchanged a brief conversation with each other, adding further speculation of a second meeting later this year.

The Filipino star was surprised by his chance encounter with ‘Money’ and has insists that no business was discussed.

“Surprisingly, I didn’t know that he was there at the game,” Pacquiao recalled.

“I was invited on that Filipino Heritage Night at the Clippers’ game.

“I didn’t know that he was there and then when they were throwing t-shirts to the crowds I saw him. And then I just say, ‘Hello’ – that’s it.”

Boxing fans will no doubt be keeping a close eye on tonight’s event in the hopes that a Mayweather vs Pacquaio rematch will be announced.
