Jurgen Klopp’s surprise admission leaves Liverpool fans DELIGHTED, they didn't expect this

The Reds can go seven points clear at the top of the table with a victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp has had to adjust defensively amid a number of injury problems.

Dejan Lovren joined Joel Matip and Joe Gomez on the operating table when he picked up a hamstring problem in the FA Cup defeat at Wolves.

The German was then rocked with the news earlier this week that Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to miss a month of action after tweaking knee ligaments.

The England defender sustained the problem in the warm up against Brighton but soldiered on to play 90 minutes.

But Klopp dropped a hint in his press conference that the injury is nowhere near as worse feared.

“Gini [Wijnaldum] and Trent we will decide by day, it’s not cool,” said Klopp.

“The exceptional thing of that story is they both played 90 minutes [at Brighton].

The whole world saw what happened to Trent. What a boy. Unbelievable to play that game, and afterwards we got the information that he had pain.

“Nothing happened to him during the game, it’s just what happened before it. Adrenalin is obviously an interesting thing, it gives you an opportunity to do a bit more than you would expect.

“We will see. We will wait for both, for sure really close for Saturday, I don’t want to close any doors before anybody tells me to close them.”

Fans took to Twitter to express their delight at the shock news.

One joked: “It’s because we have the old Man City physio who makes our players super human.”

Another added: “Reckon Klopp was being cheeky on Trent. Make Palace second guess who will be starting at RB. I’m sure it’ll be Ribena Boy.”

A third said: “Whatever Klopp is giving Trent, I want it too! We were told he’ll be out for a month and now Klopp says he might start against Palace tomorrow?!”
