Cheryl: Greatest Dancer judge addresses relationship with ex Liam Payne ‘More eyes on us'

The 35-year-old The Greatest Dancer judge said she and Liam Payne, 25, who share one-year-old son Bear together, have a “healthy” partnership since going their separate ways. “There’s no animosity whatsoever,” Cheryl told MailOnline. “We are learning all the time. And it’s good, it’s healthy.

“We’re just like any other couple that have gone through this, but we have a few more eyes watching us,” she added, joking: “Just a few.”

Cheryl also opened up on her love life since her split from Liam, insisting she hasn’t “given up” on finding love altogether.

“I wouldn’t say I’ve given up on love,” she told the publication. “I love love. But I have paused my relationship goals.

“All is well. I’m just going with the flow, but I have no plans to meet anybody anytime soon,” she added.

Cheryl admitted she struggled with the “lows” of breaking up, saying: “I hate the lows… I hate the lows. It’s kind of one of the things that makes us not want to get into a relationship.

“Nothing quite makes you feel like that, does it? Nothing else.”

She revealed she wasn’t currently in the right space to face the possibility of more “lows”.

“I know you have to take the highs with the lows,” she said. “So I’m working on being okay with that, but at the moment, I just don’t need it. I don’t want it.”

Last July, Cheryl and ex-One Direction star Liam confirmed the end of their relationship, with the Love Made Me Do It singer telling her 6.1 million Twitter followers it had been “a tough decision”.

“We still have so much love for each other as a family,” her statement said. “Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.”

They previously welcomed Bear in March 2017.

Later last year, Cheryl told Jessie Ware on the poster’s Table Manners podcast that the “romantic area” of her life had “stopped”.

“It’s not happening anymore,” she said. “It’s the end. It’s the end. I’m good.”

The former Girls Aloud star said of her son: “I’ve got the man in my life now.”

Cheryl is currently starring on the BBC’s new talent show The Greatest Dancer, acting as a judge alongside Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, 28, and broadway and Glee favourite Matthew Morrison, 40.

The Greatest Dancer continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
