Weight loss: Katie Piper got a six pack by cutting this from her diet

Katie Piper, 35, has long been an inspiration for women across the nation, and after she took part on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 the author and model only landed herself even more fans. The mum of two has a staggering 832k followers on Instagram, thanks to her inspiring posts as well as a glimpse at how she has crafted such a fantastic figure. And during a recent family holiday Katie had her fans in awe of her six pack, as she posed on her balcony in a black bikini. The star has since revealed exactly how she got such defined abs, revealing the one thing she drastically reduced her consumption of – alcohol.

While speaking to Express.co.uk about The Healthy Happy Mum Plan, Katie revealed she’s cut down on the amount of alcohol she drinks – cutting it out completely while on holiday.

Katie explained: “I don’t drink a lot of alcohol, I find alcohol bloats you and it makes you make bad food choices the next day.

“I took that photo on holiday, and because we were with the kids we don’t drink at all, because we’ve got the baby and a toddler we’re getting up at like six in the morning.”

The TV presenter also swears by her method of intermittent fasting, where she eats only within an eight-hour window.

Katie explained her method: “For me it just really works. I delay my breakfast, so after getting the kids up and to school I come back and have breakfast at around 10am, then I can have my last meal of the day with the children and we can all eat together.

“After we’ve cleaned up the kitchen, it’s kind of shut for the evening and I don’t find myself grazing.”

The author also shared some example meal plans, revealing what she eats in a typical day.

Day 1

Breakfast – lemon and poppyseed pancakes made with wholemeal flour and greek yoghurt

Lunch – margherita tortilla pizza made with wholemeal tortillas

Dinner – Sticky beef with egg noodles and broccoli

Day 2

Breakfast – chia seed overnight raspberry yoghurt pot

Lunch – chickpea wrap – made with hummus and flatbreads

Dinner – cheesy baked chicken and spaghetti made with wholemeal spaghetti and low fat mozzarella

Day 3

Breakfast – Focaccia bread with eggs, grilled bacon, tomatoes and mixed salad

Lunch – chicken noodle soup made with celery, leek, carrot, and rice noodles

Katie also makes sure to still enjoy tasty treats, so if she’s in need of a snack she’ll have carrot sticks and hummus, or two satsumas, or even one square of dark chocolate.

Other options of snacks are a small portion of popcorn, yoghurt, or cottage cheese.

However, on days where she might be in need of more calories, Katie’s snacks could include two crumpets with butter, tortilla chips with salsa, a small chocolate bar, or even two meringues with strawberries and cream.

The 35 year old also works out regularly, making sure to include her two daughters in her fitness regime if it’s an activity such as cycling.
