Megan Barton-Hanson: Vanessa Bauer shares cosy hug with Wes Nelson after 'sorting' feud

Wes Nelson, 20, could be seen wearing a warm fleece hoodie, wrapped up against the chilly weather, as he put his arm around his Dancing On Ice skating partner. Vanessa Bauer, 22, was bundled up in a long black padded coat which fell to her knees. She paired it with black leggings and boots, a rucksack slung over her back. The stars were snapped sharing a warm hug as they left rehearsals ahead of Sunday’s live show.

This morning, Wes told Heart Radio’s Breakfast show Megan Barton-Hanson, 24, and Vanessa had made up and put aside their differences.

“It’s concluded,” he said. “They’ve spoken to each other. They’re happy.

“I don’t even know what they spoke about,” he admitted. “I just let women get on with their women talk.”

His comments came after Megan hit out at Vanessa in view of her 1.8 million Instagram followers earlier this week, calling the skater’s recent split with her boyfriend “tactical” after news emerged just hours before she took to the ice with Wes.

“vanessabauer_skates love that you decide to announce your breakup with your boyfriend on the night of the first performance with my boyfriend!” she wrote in a story post which she deleted several hours later

“You’ve never reached out to me once or invited me to watch you train, it pained you to introduce yourself to me last night and you didn’t even look me in the eye LOL hope the tactical breakup got you the headlines you wanted babe.”(sic)

Wes said Megan has admitted she wished she had contacted Vanessa privately instead of posting her scathing message publicly on Instagram.

“She’s not apologising for it,” the Dancing On Ice hopeful explained on Heart. “It’s how she feels. I’m not going to argue with it.

“I’m going to back my girlfriend.

“I don’t want to mess anything with the show or with my girlfriend. We understand what’s going on. They’ve spoken, we’ve sorted it,” he added.

After Megan hit headlines for being captured looking less than happy in the audience at Dancing On Ice, she spoke out about the drama which has surrounded the three of them since she blasted Vanessa on Instagram.

“I was just really hurt and it was the first time he’d skated, he got the best score of the night and it was taken away from him,” she said on Loose Women.

“All the headlines were on me looking like a jealous ex — I felt like I was fighting a losing battle.”

Vanessa has chosen not to directly address the controversy publicly.

Earlier this week, she shared a series of shots of her pro performance with Hamish Gaman, 35, with her 73,000 Instagram followers, saying: “Because whenever I’m on the ice everything is good again.

“I’m so grateful for yesterday’s voting window number,” she continued. “There is nothing in the world I am more passionate about and that makes me happier than figure skating!

“Last night’s number was an absolute dream. I can’t thank everybody enough for all the love and support.”

Dancing On Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
