Huawei Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro update unlocks the true potential of these flagships

Huawei P20 Pro is almost a year old but still remains one of the few smartphones to boast a triple camera system.

Moreover, the handset is still one of the best Android devices around thanks to its legion of compelling features.

Not only does the P20 Pro have a great display and fast processor, but it also has a huge 4,000mAh battery that easily delivers all-day life.

The Mate 20 Pro is the Chinese OEM’s newest flagship and has improved upon a number of the P20 Pro’s functions.

Most notably, the Mate 20 Pro replaced the monochrome camera sensor on the P20 Pro and replaced it with a wide-angle lens.

The camera system allows more objects to fit in a single frame and allows for incredibly unique shots to be taken overall.

Mate 20 Pro’s wide-angle system was one of the reasons it won our coveted phone of the year award for 2018 at Express.co.uk.

Both the Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro come with displays that support HDR 10, meaning content that takes advantage of it looks incredibly immersive and vivid.

The former comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel that has a resolution of 1440p.

Meanwhile, the latter has a 6.1-inch screen that offers a resolution of 1080p.

While a number of applications take advantage of such a feature, until now Netflix had been a notable exception.

However, a new update has now enabled HDR support for the popular streaming service on both handsets.

This means content from the streaming service that allows for such a feature can now be taken advantage of.

It is worth noting users will need to make sure they have a Netflix subscription that allows for HDR content to be consumed to make the most of the display offered on their Huawei device.

Sex Education, 13 Reasons Why and Daredevil are just some of the offerings from Netflix that support HDR viewing.
