Galaxy S10 leak may have just revealed Samsung's most unique feature in full

Galaxy S10 is the presumed name for Samsung’s next flagship handset that is highly anticipated.

Unlike previous Galaxy S-line devices, the S10 is expected to come in at least three varieties.

While standard and “+” variants of the product are presumed, it has also been reported a cheaper model of the phone is in the works.

Bloomberg insisted such a phone would forgo some premium features in exchange for a more affordable price tag.

The most notable was said to be the admission of a signature Samsung curved display.

All three models of the Galaxy S10 are expected to come with a radical redesign, especially with regard to each’s screen.

The Galaxy S10 has been heavily rumoured to arrive with an all-screen aesthetic, meaning it could flaunt incredibly minimal bezels overall.

However, it has been speculated the device could feature a hole in its panel for its front-facing camera.

At the start of this month notable leaker Evan Blass took to Twitter and posted an image of a claimed Galaxy S10 unit.

The hardware was shown with minimal bezels on its top and bottom and a circular cutout on the right-hand side of its display for its front-facing lens.

Such a design choice appears to be a way for Samsung to avoid putting a traditional notch on its handsets.

The South Korean OEM’s Galaxy A8s device, that was announced last month, features a similar aesthetic.

Moreover, the Honor View 20 and Huawei Nova 4 similarly tout screen cutouts for each’s respective front sensor.

While the cheapest version of the Galaxy S10 and the standard model of the hardware have been rumoured to arrive with a single front-facing sensor, the Galaxy S10+ has been claimed to come with two.

Although the exact function for the secondary camera is unknown, it could deliver a wider angle for selfies similar to what is currently offered on the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

Because the Galaxy S10+ is rumoured to have two front-facing sensors, it was assumed the cutout within the phone’s display would be bigger to accommodate for the added functionally.

That left many insisting the device could come with a pill-shaped cutout on its front, rather than a circular one.

It appears further credence has been added to such claims from a new image that has emerged on Twitter via renowned tipster Ice Universe.

The leaker showed off an image of a claimed Galaxy S10+ being used in the wild; the hardware was shown with an all-screen design and a noticeable cutout at the top right-hand side of its panel.

Ice Universe insisted the hardware was being used in a “protective case”, possibly explaining the phone’s unexpected square shape.

He said: “This is the Galaxy S10+. It is suspected that Samsung employees leaked.

“This is the S10+ with a protective case.”

Unlike the standard S10 that is expected to come with a circular cutout, a pill-shaped hole in a display for the Galaxy S10+ would be the first of its kind.

Although the new leak appears to give fans a tantalising glimpse into the firm’s next phone, it is wroth noting Samsung has not commented on its accuracy.

Instead the Android faithful will have to wait until February 20 to see what the device has in store.
