Eclipse 2019 in Washington: When is lunar eclipse visible, time, how to watch Blood Moon

The lunar eclipse will be visible at the end of this month, as the Moon is coated in a foreboding red hue. This year’s eclipse is a particularly rare type of blood moon, known as a Super Blood Wolf Moon. The occasion is often marked with fear for many, having formerly been regarded as a sign of the end times. There will be few areas which escape the scarlet satellite, including the USA, where every state will catch a glimpse.

How to watch the Blood moon from Washington

The super blood Moon will be visible during its maximum hanging in the sky and at an increased size.

This means for most people in Washington, viewing the eclipse will be as simple as looking up.

However, this is weather permitting and any cloud cover means some people’s views are blocked.

Sadly for those in Washington on January 20, the weather is forecast to be cloudy with rain showers.

Naturally this will greatly obscure the view but thankfully there are other ways to watch the eclipse take place.

Timeanddate.com will be live streaming the eclipse from their YouTube channel and website when it starts.

Their stream will begin early in the morning for the UK, at 2.36m GMT, (21.36pm EST) and maximum will take place at 5.12am GMT (0.12am EST).
