David Warner dealt injury blow while playing in Bangladesh

David Warner will return to Australia to have an elbow injury assessed, but the suspended star’s pain won’t stop him playing another two matches before he flies home.

Warner became the second Australian to injure his elbow playing in the Bangladesh Premier League on Wednesday night as he hit 61 not out for his Sylhet Sixers, after Steve Smith was also hurt in the competition last week.

“He will return to Australia on Monday 21 January to be assessed, but is expected to play in remaining BPL matches until his return,” a Cricket Australia spokesperson said.
