Bohemian Rhapsody: Freddie Mercury sister SHOCKING reaction to Rami Malek performance

Awards are flooding in for Malek’s outstanding recreation of one of the most iconic figures in music history. He already has a Golden Globe under his belt and Oscar glory looks almost certain, unless dark horse Christian Bale can pip him to it. Even Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor have expressed their amazement with how completely the young actor brought Freddie to life. However, the first reaction of the person who probably knows Freddie better than anyone in the world was not what anyone expected.

Cook proudly stood alongside Malek, May and Taylor on the red carpet at the world premiere at Wembley Arena.

She was the person Malek most wanted to please, but she actually laughed the first time she saw him on set.

Malek told Jimmy Kimmel: “She got to see me as young Freddie with long hair and the teeth, make-up, the whole 1970s, early glam-rock look.

“She laughed. As you can imagine it was an incredibly bizarre, alien moment for her.”

The actor added that once the shock subsided, Kash also cried.

He said: “Later on, it was a very emotional moment. On a serious note, she wrote me the most moving email, it was very powerful. To get that vote of appreciation from the people who were closest to him was everything for me….

“I got to spend a lot of time with Kash — I call her Kash, which is a phenomenal thing I never thought I’d be doing in my life — and just being able to talk to her and hold her hand and give her a hug and have tea with her is such a gift. And to have had this experience and to feel some kinship with Freddie Mercury and to hear stories about him through his sister, it means everything to me.”

Audiences have responded in an overwhelming fashion to the blockbuster biopic, pushing to almost $750million at the global box office.

Whatever happens at the Oscars, it is clear that fans and Freddie’s own family and friends have no doubts about Malek’ extraordinary achievement.
