Ant McPartlin news: Britain's Got Talent host to RETURN alongside Declan Donnelly

This year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent kicks off this week as the auditions for the new show begin tomorrow.

Alongside the four judges returning, Richard Arnold explained on Good Morning Britain earlier today Ant McPartlin will also return.

After stepping down from his TV commitments for a year, Ant will be back with Declan Donelly for the new series.

Richard told hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard: “I can officially announce that after a year off Ant will start filming the new series of BGT.”

“Can you believe it has come around again? How time flies,” Richard commented.

In relation to details of when Ant will be back, he added: “They’re reunited on Friday for the auditions of course, getting underway in London on Friday before the rest of the BGT continue their search for talent next month.”

It comes after Dec spoke to the Mirror about the new talent show confirming: “It’s back to normal for BGT – fingers crossed it will be great.”

Alongside Dec, Stephen Mulhern also commented on Ant’s return to the big screen.

He explained to Good Morning Britain how “brilliant” it was to have him back.

“I think it’s great, I think it’s brilliant. He’s apparently doing very well. It will be nice to have all the family back,” he said.

It comes after the pair have been nominated for a National Television Award.

The shortlist for the awards ceremony has been revealed and the fan-favourite duo are up for Best TV Presenter.

They have won the award for the last 17 years running, but will Ant’s absence this last year mean someone else could scoop the prize?

They are going head to head with Bradley Walsh, Graham Norton, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

There is a strong possibility Holly could take top place following her stepping in for Ant and present I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here 2018.

Alongside Best TV presenter, two of Ant and Dec’s other shows are up for the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity 2018 are up for the award.

It follows a tweet Ant sent from Ant and Dec’s official Twitter account which sent fans into meltdown.

“***exciting show alert*** Tonight ITV 9pm. Re-Play 2018 with Richard Osman. Play along and see if you’ve been paying attention to 2018.”

Ant added: “Enjoy!” and signed off with: “A.”

Britain’s Got Talent 2019 returns to ITV later this year.
