Peter Parker may have been turned to dust by Thanos at the end of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, but he’s firing on all cylinders in the first footage from his solo sequel – which follows the huge success of 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Far From Home’s trailer comes after Holland teased a special Instagram Live session. Watch it above.
The Far From Home trailer was first shown at a special Comic Con event in Brazil in late December, but this is the first time it’s been put out to the whole world.
It confirms the re-appearance of Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury, as well as giving the first glimpse at Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio.
The trailer starts as a fun adventure movie with Holland his class-mates travelling abroad – until Fury turns up to “hijack our summer vacation”.
“You’ve got a job to do – are you going to step up or not?” he asks.
“You’re all alone, your friends are in trouble,” Happy Hogan adds.
“What are you gonna do about it?”
There is no reference at all to Thanos and the Snap – which claimed Peter Parker’s life at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.
Iron Man and Thor, however, are mentioned in passing towards the end of the clip.
