Nintendo Switch Online: What new SNES games are coming in 2019?

For fans of retro games who are also Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, there has been some very good news shared this week.

According to dataminers, a massive list of SNES games has been found that look set to be added to the service in 2019.

As many fans will already know, Nintendo Switch Online is required if you want play multiplayer on a vast number of titles.

This can make it an essential purchase for many Switch gamers and it also comes with other bonuses.

This includes being able to download and play old NES games, complete with added multiplayer functions.

This includes the likes of Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Super Mario Bros, removing the need to hunt down old software.

The alternative is buying an NES Classic Mini, although Nintendo doesn’t appear to have plans to keep producing them in the coming months.

And the good news for retro games fans is that Nintendo Switch Online looks set to get a new wave of titles.

These will be SNES games, and it looks like Nintendo has plans for the whole year.

Data discovered and mined in a recent Nintendo Switch software update suggests that over 20 Super Nintendo games might be on the way.

It seems a second emulator has been added to the Switch, making it possible for these SNES games to run.

A lot of these new titles that have been linked to Nintendo Switch Online have already appeared on the SNES Mini Classic console.

So this would give owners the chance to play the same titles but this time on the go.

It will be up to Nintendo Switch owners to decide whether these games are what they want and a full list can be found below:
