Kate Middleton wears £2,700 purple suit after Meghan wore same hue yesterday

Kate Middleton attended the Royal Opera House today. The future Queen visited the costume department to learn about their use of textiles, commissioning of fabrics and supply chain. Yesterday the Duchess of Cambridge visited Islington. She talked about the merits of gardening with school children.

Kate wore an Oscar De La Renta jacket and skirt combo which she has worn twice before.

Rather pricey, the whole outfit is priced at $3480 or £2,704.95.

The visit has a personal link for the Duchess of Cambridge.

Her great-great-granddad worked in textiles.

Francis Martineau Lupton ran the William Lupton & Company.

Kate wore the designer two-piece at a mental health conference on 6 February 2017.

The Duchess may also have chosen this garment in December 2016.

Yesterday Meghan Markle wore a purple dress with a red coat over the top.

The coat was given this name after Meghan wore a tan version for Christmas Day 2017.

A similar version can be purchased from Walk In Style for £1,100.
