Carol Kirkwood is used to being complimented and adored, as one of BBC Breakfast’s most popular presenters.
However, she was the one dishing out the compliments when she gushed about a Hollywood actor and singer in 2013.
When the weather reporter was asked who her TV crush was, she named David Soul, 75, as her favourite.
She said: “David Soul when he played Hutch in Starsky and Hutch.”
The 56-year-old TV personality was lucky enough to meet her idol in person during a television appearance.
“I was on The One Show once as a guest and met him,” she told Radio Times.
Also, the broadcaster admitted she was left starstruck by Bryan Adams, a Canadian singer and songwriter.
“I love him,” she swooned. “He was a guest on [BBC] Breakfast and I wanted to say hello, but I couldn’t pluck up the courage.”
She recounted: “Eventually I did, but I was so nervous I could hardly speak. He was so lovely as well.”
The radio presenter also has a soft spot for actor Jeremy Piven, who plays Harry Jeremy Selfridge in the ITV drama series Mr Selfridge.
Of the show, she remarked: “All my friends laugh at me, but I loved it. I like Jeremy Piven.
“I just love the storylines and the cheesiness of it: perfect Sunday-night telly, glass of wine, happy days!”
She also enjoys watching Would I Lie to You?, which airs on BBC One and is presented by actor and comedian Rob Brydon, 53.
The forecaster divulged. “I’ve been on it and some of those comedians are so quick, so dry.
“They make you laugh so hard. People say it’s all scripted but nothing was.”
In the interview, Carol also spoke out about there being lots of “naked” pictures of her on the internet.
The meteorologist said there were people who superimposed her face onto the bodies of naked women and put the photograph online.
She revealed there were lots of images claiming to be her on the internet, but insisted they were all fake.
“There are so many naked pictures that claim to be me but aren’t, just my head stuck on other women’s bodies,” she explained.
“My friends send them to me. Thanks very much!”
