Transfer news live: Man Utd beat Liverpool to gem, Chelsea oust Costa, Arsenal, Leeds

Chelsea transfer boost

Krzysztof Piatek is ‘very close’ to joining AC Milan.

And that could have a huge bearing on Chelsea’s transfer plans.

Chelsea want to sign Gonzalo Higuain in a deal from Milan this winter.

To do that, they must agree the terms with Higuain’s parent club, Juventus.

But Milan want a replacement striker before letting him go.

And Sport Mediaset claim Piatek is close to moving to the San Siro, despite rival interest from Real Madrid.

Chelsea plan deal with Atletico Madrid

Chelsea are in talks with Atletico Madrid over the transfer of Alvaro Morata.

And the deal could end up costing Diego Costa his place at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Chelsea are keen to get rid of Morata and replace him with Gonzalo Higuain.

And Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett reckons Morata leaving for Atletico could impact on Costa.

“This one could be one of the biggest moves of the transfer window. It concerns Alvaro Morata,” he said on Sky Sports.

“He cost an initial £58m just 18 months ago. But could he be about the leave Stamford Bridge?

“Ironically he was the man employed to replace Diego Costa at Chelsea.

“He could now be about to replace Costa again, at Atletico Madrid.

“We understand Chelsea are in talks with Atletico over a deal for Morata to head back to Spain.

“He arrived at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid and signed a five-year contract on a deal that could have reached £70m with add-on fees.

“But speaking before the game with Newcastle Maurizio Sarri acknowledged Morata could be on his way out.”

Man Utd beat Liverpool to Norwegian

Manchester United are set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Norwegian sensation Isak Hansen-Aaroen.

Hansen-Aaroen is just 14 years of age but is tipped as the next big thing in Norway.

Liverpool, United and Everton were all linked with the teenager in October.

Hansen-Aaroen is supposedly a Liverpool fan – at least, he was snapped wearing a Reds shirt back in 2017.

But United are set to hold a second round of talks with Tromso officials this week.

“Kristian and I today go to Manchester and meet Manchester United as a step in the process of Isaac Hansen-Aaroen and his future,” Tromso sports manager Svein-Morten Johansen told iTromsø.

“The meeting is a continuation of the meeting in Tromso in the autumn.

“TIL has a good dialogue with Manchester United.

“We will not comment on anything more than this.”

Leeds transfer proof?

Tancredi Palmeri has hinted that Leeds United are all set to sign Real Madrid keeper Kiko Casilla.

He tweeted on Tuesday morning: “Very valuable signing from Leeds with Kiko Casilla.”

Leeds are looking for a new goalkeeper to compete with current stopper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa is tasked with taking the Whites back into the Premier League.

Leeds currently sit top of the Championship, having beaten Derby 2-0 last time out.

Arsenal transfer plan

Arsenal want to sell Mesut Ozil in order to sign Yannick Carrasco.

That is according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who claim Unai Emery wants Ozil out in order to facilitate a new arrival.

Getting Ozil’s £350,000-a-week salary off Arsenal’s wage bill is key for Emery.

It means he would be able to go out and sign a playmaker more to his liking.

Carrasco is currently playing the Chinese Super League.
