Pokemon Go news: Today is your LAST chance to catch Heatran – How to catch Heatran

Heatran is the most recent addition to Pokemon Go and is only available in Raid Battles. Raid Battles encourage cooperative gameplay, which sees you work with others to fight formidably powerful Pokemon. But the Lava Dome Pokemon will not available for much longer as it will disappear tomorrow, Tuesday, January 15.

To catch Heatran, you will first need to visit a Gym hosting a Heatran Raid, then pair up with other trainers in-person to fight it.

By beating the Legendary, you will both be rewarded with Premier Balls and an opportunity to catch Heatran.

What makes Heatran distinctive compared with other Legendaries is its typing.

The Lava Dome Pokemon is a Fire and Steel type, giving it a resistance to Dragon and Psychic attacks.

However this typing combination also makes it vulnerable to Fighting and Ground type moves in particular.

This susceptibly means players will want to bring along Pokemon such as Rhyperior and Groudon to such Raid Battles.

And Water Pokemon such as Kyogre and Swampert will also prove effective.

Heatran is the third Generation 4 Legendary to arrive in Pokemon Go so far.

Heatran arrived hot in the heals of Giratina which made an appearance at the last Pokemon Go Halloween event.

Pokemon Go developer Niantic is yet to announce what the augmented reality game next Legendary will be,

However it should not be a long wait to discover what it will be as a new one typically arrives as the previous disappears.

There is, however, growing consensus the next Legendary could be Uxie, Azelf or Mespirit.

In addition to Heatran, several older Legendaries remain available in Pokemon Go through January’s Field Research.

Pokemon Go players can encounter one of eight Legendaries: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh, and Lugia each time you achieve a Research Breakthrough through the end of next month.

Pokemon Go’s ongoing Adventure Sync Hatchathon is also scheduled to wrap up on Tuesday January 15.

Through the end of the Adventure Sync Hatchathon event, player can earn double the normal amount of Stardust and Candy for each Pokemon Egg you hatch

This means players will have a better opportunity of getting 5 and 10 km Eggs by spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops and Gyms.
