Pokemon Go February Community Day DATE: When is the next Community Day?

The countdown to February’s Pokemon Go Community Day is commencing. Community Days are brief windows to learn previously unavailable moves for a rare Pokemon or its Evolution, in addition to acquiring some special bonuses. So expect an announcement about this month’s Community Day to be made in the next few days.

Pokemon Go developer Niantic normally reveals all of the info about the next Community Day hard on the back of the previous event.

This is the schedule the developer stuck to last, and there is little reason for this to change in 2019.

However, a packed program has meant trainers have been waiting a little longer for updates, but this is mainly due to other launch.

For example, the Let’s Go Pikachu Nintendo Switch release delayed one month’s announcement.

But there is no such launch in February to justify a delay in the news.

Although February is a famously short month, there are several weekends that Niantic could hold their Community Day.

2018’s Pokemon Go Community Day took place on February 24 where Trainers had the opportunity at catching a shiny Dratini.

However a majority of events are usually held earlier in the month, suggesting Saturday, February 9 is a likely candidate to hold a Community Day.

However Trainers will have to sit tight until Niantic confirm the February Community Day date later this month.

And as well as announcing the date, Niantic will also state which shiny Pokemon will feature.

Community Days normally find Niantic alternating between offering starter Pokemon and those pocket monsters found in 10KM Eggs.

There are many Pokemon to choose from, making it making it impossible to second-guess which one will be on offer this month.

It is possible to make an educated guess as to the type: Totodile was January’s Pokemon, meaning a 10KM egg Pokemon will probably be on offer this time around.

Although Pokemon Go Gen 4 starter Pokemon were launched at 2018’s end, no Sinnoh region starter are expected to headline the show in February.

It is widely believed it is too early for Niantic to start doing that.

This is especially so given that Gen 3 starter Pokemon are yet to feature, added to the fact many 10KM Pokemon are yet to start.
