Man Utd hoping to hijack Arsenal transfer: Chances of January deal revealed

Red Devils interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed he will have a say in Manchester United’s January transfer plans.

And according to ESPN, United have identified Roma winger Under as a target.

They say the Red Devils have joined Arsenal, Tottenham and Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 21-year-old.

However, ESPN add that a January transfer is not on the cards, with the Premier League big boys instead planning ahead to the summer window.

Roma are demanding around (£45m) €50m for the Turkey international.

And ESPN say the Italian giants are reluctant to lower their asking price as 25 per cent of the transfer fee will go to Under’s old side Istanbul Basaksehir.

Under and Roma are currently negotiating a new contract, however, talks have dried up.

ESPN add that the Serie A side are reluctant to give Under a pay rise, with Roma instead set to cash in on the winger.

Solskjaer has been vocal on United’s January transfer plans, with the Old Trafford interim manager revealing he will have a say.

“I will have an input but the job is to get to know the players, observe them,” he said.

“I’ve seen more or less every game from Norway.

“But (I need) to get to know the players, what I think I can improve them on and the club have got the recruitment and scouting.

“They’ve got their targets but I’ve not sat down and talked about that.”

United are back in action on Saturday against Brighton in the Premier League (3pm kick off).

Solskjaer is hoping to win his seventh consecutive game in charge since taking over at Old Trafford.
